Position Overview:

The Consumer Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the team of Credit Analysts and Credit Officers, ensuring that they achieve superior industry benchmarks in efficiency, service quality, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of the consumer lending portfolio, focusing on achieving organizational objectives related to loan growth, profitability, and portfolio management.
  • Generate, analyze, and present daily and monthly loan performance reports to assess team productivity and provide insights to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with all consumer credit policies and regulations, keeping procedures current and training staff accordingly.
  • Manage departmental personnel, including scheduling, performance evaluations, recruitment, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Develop and enforce accountability standards for team members.
  • Lead marketing initiatives to promote the consumer lending portfolio, ensuring all promotional materials are accurate and compliant.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related discipline; relevant supervisory experience may substitute for formal education.
  • A minimum of 5 years in consumer lending, including loan analysis and underwriting.
  • At least 3 years of experience in consumer loan underwriting.
  • Proven track record in team management with a focus on self-directed performance.
  • Strong understanding of risk-based underwriting practices.
  • Experience with subprime lending is preferred.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based, with a standard work schedule.
