About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Ascension Van Elslander Cancer Center. As a key member of our mobile mammography unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mammography imaging services to patients in Wayne, Macomb, and southeastern Oakland county.

Responsibilities
  • Operate mammography equipment and perform various procedures to ensure accurate and high-quality images.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging, selecting anatomic and technical parameters as needed.
  • Explain procedures and educate patients about the importance of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
  • Develop and evaluate film for technical quality, ensuring compliance with radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, and report any equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers.
  • One or more of the following certifications: Cardiographic Tech (CCI), Radiologic Technologist specializing in Mammography (ARRT), or Medical Sonographer (ARDMS).
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, or Associate's degree/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
