This 2.5-year professional development program is designed to accelerate candidates toward a career as a Production Underwriter, where they will be responsible for building and maintaining a book of business through Sales and Underwriting.

Program Overview

The Underwriter Development Program is a comprehensive training program that includes technical and sales workshops, on-the-job training, mentoring, and attendance at industry events. Participants will gain a deep understanding of the insurance industry, develop strong sales and underwriting skills, and build a network of industry professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Successfully create and manage a profitable book of new and renewal business
  • Prospect for new business by developing relationships with retail agents through traditional and creative marketing strategies
  • Remain up-to-date with new insurance companies' offers and how to leverage them
  • Prospect for new business markets and/or lines to write with sales techniques based in trust and relationship building
  • Mentor and train new team members

Requirements
