Job Summary

Cornell Cooperative Extension is seeking a highly motivated and experienced SNAP-Ed PSE Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Regional SNAP-Ed program, you will be responsible for developing and implementing policy, systems, and environmental change initiatives to promote healthy eating and physical activity in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement PSE initiatives to address identified gaps and needs in the community, county, and region.
  • Collaborate with community partners, Cornell faculty, and other stakeholders to develop and implement PSE initiatives.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to SNAP-Ed staff and partners on PSE initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate PSE initiatives to ensure they conform to policies and objectives of the Association and funder Plan of Work.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to advance PSE initiatives.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or equivalent education in a relevant field, such as public health, nutrition, or a related field.
  • Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation, particularly in the areas of policy, systems, and environmental change.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background or coursework in program planning and development, nutrition, health education, and/or public health.
  • Familiarity with the community in which the work will take place and ability to utilize program resources within the community.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high degree of integrity, accuracy, organization, and sound professional judgment.
