Procurement Specialist

Fondomonte Arizona LLC is on the lookout for a skilled Procurement Specialist to enhance our Purchasing Team. This role presents a chance for professional development while working closely with the Procurement Manager to support our expanding Agri-business across various operational sites.
The primary duty of the Procurement Specialist will involve managing daily supply chain operations, assessing vendor quotes, and engaging with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, and delivery timelines. Delivering exceptional customer service to both operational teams and internal stakeholders is crucial.
This position is office-based, operating Monday through Friday, with standard hours from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Compensation ranges from $22 to $23 per hour, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies from various vendors.
- Engage with suppliers to gather product or service details, including pricing and delivery schedules.
- Analyze quotes, service quality, and delivery performance to identify preferred suppliers.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase orders to support daily operations.
- Maintain professional communication with vendors to address any issues or follow-ups.
- Submit daily requests for quotes to facilitate efficient order processing.
- Review invoices and liaise with suppliers to rectify discrepancies.
- Evaluate requisitions and assist in the bidding process for standard items.
- Follow up on open orders and expedite as necessary.
- Cross-train within various internal purchasing teams.
- Maintain comprehensive records of materials, processes, inventories, and deliveries.
- Support the purchasing function and communicate any supply chain challenges that may affect operations.
- Collaborate with procurement colleagues to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies to ensure a safe workplace.
- Proactively address internal or external issues, including system and vendor-related challenges.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
- Utilize Excel and SAP to streamline the purchase-to-payment process.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in Supply Chain Management is advantageous.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or a combination of relevant experience and education.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a Buyer or Purchasing Specialist role is required.
- Familiarity with SAP as a primary planning and purchasing tool is preferred.
- General knowledge of inventory management practices.
- Strong negotiation capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Understanding of applicable state, federal, and international laws and regulations.
