**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled Music Therapist to join our team at St. Croix Hospice. As a Music Therapist, you will provide music therapy services to patients under the direction of our clinical supervisor or clinical director.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct music therapy services to patients, following the individualized plan of care.
- Assess patients for medical indication for services and perform assessments to determine the effectiveness of therapy.
- Treat patients to relieve symptoms and provide psychological, psychosocial, physical, and spiritual comfort.
- Direct and aid patients through music therapy interventions to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, agitation, restlessness, depression, pain, emotional distress, and social isolation.
- Assist patients with needs regarding relaxation, communication, family support, anticipatory grief, and interest in life legacy/review interventions.
- Utilize interventions such as relaxation, imagery, lyric analysis, song writing, reminiscence, entrainment, life review, receptive listening, and life legacy projects.
- Observe and report patient responses to treatment and any changes in patient condition to the clinical supervisor or clinical director and organization personnel.
- Provide education and awareness to the clinical team regarding the appropriateness or contraindications for therapy treatment.
- Maintain necessary records, including clinical notes, problem charting, and coordination notes.
- Participate in interdisciplinary group and organization in-service education programs as needed.
- Participate in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities as needed.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited music therapy program with a Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy.
- Meets personnel qualifications stated in § b).
- Completion and passing of the National Certification Exam (CBMT) credentials of MT-BC Music Therapy Board Certified preferred.
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
