Job Summary:

As a Music Therapist at St. Croix Hospice, you will provide music therapy services to patients and their families, promoting comfort, relaxation, and emotional well-being. You will work under the direction of the clinical supervisor or clinical director and in accordance with the individualized plan of care.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct music therapy services to patients, utilizing interventions such as relaxation, imagery, lyric analysis, song writing, reminiscence, entrainment, life review, receptive listening, and life legacy projects.

Assess patients for appropriate medical indication for services and perform assessments to determine effectiveness of therapy.

Treat patients to relieve symptoms and provide psychological, psychosocial, physical, and spiritual comfort.

Direct and aid patients through music therapy interventions to assist with alleviating symptoms of anxiety, agitation, restlessness, depression, pain, emotional distress (patient and family), spiritual distress, and social isolation.

Maintain necessary records, including clinical notes, problem charting, coordination notes, and incorporate them into the patient's clinical record within 24-48 hours of session and modify as needed.

Participate in interdisciplinary group and organization in-service education program as needed.

Participate in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited music therapy program with Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy.

Completion and passing of National Certification Exam (CBMT) credentials of MT-BC Music Therapy Board Certified preferred.

Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
