Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Scientific Researcher to join our team at Synectics Inc. As a key member of our histology laboratory, you will be responsible for generating and analyzing precise, reliable, and reproducible data in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate and analyze data under the direction of a senior scientific leader.
  • Demonstrate experimental precision and possess a general understanding of core discipline.
  • Perform or develop requested immunohistochemical techniques.
  • Recognize variations in tissue specimens and understand corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, and GxP compliance.
  • Analyze, interpret, and evaluate results at each tissue processing step to maintain quality control.
  • Follow established experimental protocols and assess results with supervision.
  • Recognize and report experimental variances.
  • Apply basic scientific principles to research and learn new experimental protocols and techniques.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and optimize laboratory operations for efficient use of time, supplies, and reagents.
  • Consult literature to understand scientific purpose of assignments.
Qualifications
  • Required: B.S./B.A. in Biology/Chemistry or related field with 1-5+ years relevant experience.
  • HT (ASCP) certification is preferred, but a candidate with strong biology skills and a willingness to learn may be considered.
  • Applicable animal experience desired.
  • 1 year of experience within a histology/pathology laboratory within a GLP pharmaceutical company, CRO, hospital, or diagnostic company.
  • Well-organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver timely and high-quality results.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
