Respiratory Care Specialist

As a Respiratory Care Specialist at Saint Alphonsus Health System, you will provide general respiratory therapy procedures to patients as directed by physicians and protocols. This includes procedures such as non-invasive positive pressure ventilation management, delivery of medicated aerosols, bronchial hygiene therapy, lung expansion therapy, and basic CPR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides respiratory care procedures to patients as directed by physicians and protocols.
- Cleans, packages, inventories, and maintains all respiratory care equipment.
- Checks, delivers, and replenishes respiratory supplies as needed.
- Orders department forms and supplies weekly.
- Serves as a floor care therapist or equipment technician.
Requirements:
- Graduate of or actively enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Program required.
- Successful completion of the first clinical year preferred.
- Holds either a provisional license to practice, as a Respiratory Therapist, per the Idaho State Board of Medicine or enrolled as a full-time student in a American Medical Association acknowledged Respiratory Therapy program.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
