About the Role

This position plays a critical role in the daily processing of payments and the month-end closing process for the Holland America Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Creating banking templates and inputting electronic payments into the banking system.
  • Coordinating vessel funding and deposits logistics.
  • Analyzing invoices for payment and conducting payment research.
  • Preparing check runs and journal entries.
  • Communicating with banking institutions and interacting with various levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities

The Treasury Operations Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Analyzing and executing daily multi-million treasury transactions, including wire and ACH payments, FX trades, check runs, and cash requirements forecasting.
  • Preparing bi-weekly and ad-hoc vessel funding to each of the ships based on requests from Casino and Shipboard Finance.
  • Transmitting vendor pipeline payments to the banking institutions and researching rejections to amend or void vendor payments.
  • Analyzing requests for direct payments, checking for accuracy and conformity to established fees.
  • Monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and posting of recurring and adjusting journal entries.
  • Daily interaction with different levels of the organization to execute payments.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate's Degree in a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance.
  • Banking, treasury, or cruise line experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Previous treasury experience, including executing wire payments, dealing with banks, and foreign currency transactions.
  • Strong analytical skills and a creative thinker with a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires working in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety and health hazard potential. The position is classified as 'in-office' and requires employees to work from a designated Holland America Group office in South Florida from Tuesday to Thursday. Employees may work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Some positions may require additional in-office time each week, and the final schedule is determined by your leader. Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
