Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and register patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner
  • Instruct, direct, and schedule patients and visitors
  • Receive payments from patients, issue receipts, and post payment data
  • Verify insurance eligibility and coverage
  • Verify patient demographic and insurance information
  • Provide and explain registration forms and obtain signatures as required
  • Collect and post payments from patients
  • Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments
  • Obtain or issue HMO insurance referrals as required
  • Maintain supply inventories and equipment
  • Ensure a neat, organized, and orderly environment in the reception and waiting room areas
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare-related experience
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency (including Microsoft Outlook, Teams)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience as a receptionist in a healthcare setting
  • Experience working with an electronic health records
  • Knowledge and ability to learn and apply job functions, and minimal medical terminology knowledge
