Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at The Commons. As a key member of our hospitality services team, you will be responsible for assisting the manager in the management of a sub unit within a department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, freshness, and presentation of food to ensure compliance with food safety guidelines.
  • Count money and process deposits, ensuring proper handling of cash by employees, particularly cashiers.
  • Order and receive food and beverage deliveries, verifying product quality and quantity.
  • Maintain accurate food inventories and keep records.
  • Manage staff, preparing work schedules, determining staff requirements, and assigning duties to ensure economical use of food and timely preparation.
  • Complete required university/departmental/franchise training.
  • Interview, hire, and train new employees and develop existing staff.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree and some supervisory experience, or a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal four years. Knowledge and experience in food products and preparation of food are essential, as well as thorough knowledge of food safety preparation, including temperatures, hold times, cross-contamination, etc.
