As an Assistant Manager at Texas Tech University, you will play a key role in the success of our hospitality services. Your responsibilities will include monitoring food preparation methods, portion sizes, freshness, and presentation of food, ensuring that food is prepared according to food safety guidelines and presented in an acceptable manner.

You will also be responsible for counting money and processing deposits, ensuring proper handling of cash by employees, particularly cashiers. Additionally, you will manage staff, prepare work schedules, and determine staff requirements and assign duties.

Other key responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training new employees, developing existing staff, and maintaining food inventories and keeping inventory records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, freshness, and presentation of food.
  • Count money and process deposits.
  • Manage staff, prepare work schedules, and determine staff requirements and assign duties.
  • Interview, hire, and train new employees.
  • Maintain food inventories and keep inventory records.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with some supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal four years.
  • Thorough knowledge of food safety preparation, including temperatures, hold times, cross-contamination, etc.
