In this role, reporting to the Director of the Associate in Science (AIS) Nursing Program, you will play a crucial part in providing innovative leadership and oversight in the planning, execution, and assessment of the AIS Nursing Program and its faculty. As a vital member of the leadership team, you will work closely with colleagues on policy development and ensure that the College's vision, mission, and core values guide all decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a representative for Pacific College, fostering collaboration with campus and community stakeholders.
- Support the recruitment, supervision, and professional development of faculty to ensure that curricula are relevant and effectively delivered.
- Oversee the performance evaluation of assigned staff, including interviewing and selecting new employees, as well as providing training and guidance according to established policies.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Placement Coordinator to secure appropriate placements for student clinical experiences and orient preceptors to their responsibilities.
- Manage personnel and resources efficiently, maintaining effective communication with faculty and assisting the Director with faculty assignments each semester.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards in the operations of the AIS Nursing Program.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining various reports, records, and files related to assigned activities and personnel.
- Contribute to program evaluation and the systematic planning of curriculum design for the AIS Nursing Program.
- Encourage student success through advising and counseling, while facilitating positive relationships between students and faculty.
- Participate in governance committees and perform related duties as assigned.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of applicable laws, codes, and regulations related to nursing, including BRN requirements.
- Familiarity with state laws and regulations regarding licensure, certification, and accreditation.
- Proficiency in administration, supervision, and training principles and practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Adept at interpreting and explaining rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Skill in analyzing situations accurately and determining effective courses of action.
- Capacity to meet deadlines and manage schedules.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess the following:
- A master's degree in Nursing; a doctorate is preferred.
- Three to five years of progressive leadership experience, including supervisory roles and involvement in curriculum and academic program development.
- Unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in California or eligibility for licensure.
- Potential for future advancement to the Director position.
