In this role, reporting to the Director of the Associate in Science (AIS) Nursing Program, you will play a crucial part in providing innovative leadership and oversight in the planning, execution, and assessment of the AIS Nursing Program and its faculty. As a vital member of the leadership team, you will work closely with colleagues on policy development and ensure that the College's vision, mission, and core values guide all decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a representative for Pacific College, fostering collaboration with campus and community stakeholders.
  • Support the recruitment, supervision, and professional development of faculty to ensure that curricula are relevant and effectively delivered.
  • Oversee the performance evaluation of assigned staff, including interviewing and selecting new employees, as well as providing training and guidance according to established policies.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Placement Coordinator to secure appropriate placements for student clinical experiences and orient preceptors to their responsibilities.
  • Manage personnel and resources efficiently, maintaining effective communication with faculty and assisting the Director with faculty assignments each semester.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards in the operations of the AIS Nursing Program.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining various reports, records, and files related to assigned activities and personnel.
  • Contribute to program evaluation and the systematic planning of curriculum design for the AIS Nursing Program.
  • Encourage student success through advising and counseling, while facilitating positive relationships between students and faculty.
  • Participate in governance committees and perform related duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Understanding of applicable laws, codes, and regulations related to nursing, including BRN requirements.
  2. Familiarity with state laws and regulations regarding licensure, certification, and accreditation.
  3. Proficiency in administration, supervision, and training principles and practices.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating tact, patience, and courtesy.
  5. Adept at interpreting and explaining rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  7. Skill in analyzing situations accurately and determining effective courses of action.
  8. Capacity to meet deadlines and manage schedules.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess the following:

  1. A master's degree in Nursing; a doctorate is preferred.
  2. Three to five years of progressive leadership experience, including supervisory roles and involvement in curriculum and academic program development.
  3. Unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in California or eligibility for licensure.
  4. Potential for future advancement to the Director position.
