Golf Starter/Cart Attendant Job Description

The Golf Starter/Cart Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our guests at Troon Golf, L.L.C. This position is responsible for providing exceptional guest services, maintaining a smooth pace of play, and supporting the overall operations of the golf course.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide information to guests regarding the golf course, play time, and other golf-related issues.
  • Offer customer service to arriving guests to expedite the check-in process.
  • Verify that all revenues have been properly recorded by inspecting receipts for all players before they begin play.
  • Keep golf shop personnel informed regarding the pace of play off the first tee.
  • Supply guests with scorecards, pencils, and other items as needed.
  • Advise guests of course conditions and expected pace of play.
  • Implement and support all course policies and programs as communicated by management.
  • Observe pace of play on the golf course and assist slower groups/players as needed.
  • Report pace of play to the starter and golf shop personnel.
  • Assist the starter on the first tee during heavy demand periods.
  • Report infractions to the appropriate golf shop personnel.
  • Ensure that all guests/players are following golf course rules and etiquette.
  • Maintain the golf cart fleet and driving range, including cleaning, fueling, and checking carts after each use.
  • Clean and maintain the cart barn.
  • Ensure the carts are available for player use at all times.
  • Receive and communicate complaints to the Pro Shop.
  • Work closely with Pro Shop staff to prepare and conduct golf tournaments.
Requirements:
  • A valid driver's license (if driving golf cars or driving range equipment).
  • A strong work ethic.
  • A friendly personality and the ability to work well with the public.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer/guest orientation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dependability.
  • The ability to learn and enforce course policies, rules, and regulations.
  • The ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • The ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
  • Knowledge about the game of golf is preferred.
