Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Splicer to join our team at Network Connex in Dallas, TX. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary and opportunities for professional growth.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience.

About the Role

The Fiber Optic Splicer will be responsible for assembling and installing fiber optic cables, testing their performance, and splicing them using fusion and mechanical techniques. The ideal candidate will have experience working with single-mode and multimode fiber optic cables, knowledge of OTDR testing, and ability to interpret test results.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and install fiber optic cables
  • Test fiber optic cables for proper performance
  • Splice fiber optic cables using fusion and mechanical techniques
  • Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic cables
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine installation requirements
  • Calibrate and adjust equipment as needed
  • Maintain records of work performed

Requirements:

  • Experience in splicing and terminating single-mode and multimode fiber optic cables
  • Knowledge of fusion splicing and OTDR testing
  • Ability to interpret and analyze test results
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, and diagrams

  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Travel and production splicing required
