About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Course Design and Development Specialist to join our team at Lukos. As a key member of our instructional design team, you will be responsible for creating, modifying, and reformatting training materials for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and design training courses, including course outlines, instructor guides, student workbooks, and job aids, utilizing instructional systems design (ISD) and human performance technology (HPT) models.
  • Conduct comprehensive needs analysis and develop objectives, curricula, and course materials, including self-paced e-learning products, using designated authoring software.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop training content and ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Develop and analyze test and examination reliability, conduct validation studies, and submit findings to stakeholders.
  • Conduct statistical analysis of course results, course critiques, and follow-up evaluations, and submit findings to stakeholders.
  • Utilize various software programs to design and develop training materials, including e-learning platforms and authoring tools.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of the Arts (BA) in a related field, such as instructional design, education, or a related field.
  • Secret security clearance required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in course material design and development or a Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with instructional systems design (ISD) and human performance technology (HPT) models.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
Work Environment

This role will be based in Portsmouth, VA, with occasional travel to U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, D.C. and other locations within the continental United States.
