Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Data Abstraction Specialist to join our team. This role involves collecting and abstracting data from patient medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the abstracted data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and abstract data from patient medical records, focusing on vascular surgery, diagnoses, treatments, procedures, and outcomes.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of the abstracted data by cross-checking information from multiple sources within a patient's medical record.
  • Adhere to specific clinical data abstraction guidelines and standards, such as those set by CMS and TJC.
  • Enter the abstracted data into a database or registry using specialized software and maintain/update the data as necessary.
  • Participate in quality assurance processes to ensure data integrity through regular audits of the data or abstraction process.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in patient care and data management to maintain ongoing competency in the role.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience abstracting Core Measures is required.
  • Familiarity with medical records, billing/documentation practices, Microsoft Office, and standard healthcare quality concepts is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions based on experience and judgment is crucial.
  • Confidentiality is mandatory in all aspects of work.
  • A high standard of accuracy and attention to detail is expected.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • This is a remote position.
  • A BSN, LPN, or RN is preferred.
  • CPHQ certification is also preferred.

Compensation: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience.
