Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our healthcare team at Ochsner LSU Health System. As a key member of our patient care team, you will provide direct care to assigned patients, working under the direction of a registered nurse. Your expertise will be essential in delivering high-quality, personalized patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to patients, including IV therapy, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Direct and assist ancillary nursing staff with assigned duties.
  • Interact with the multidisciplinary team and other personnel to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements.
Requirements
  • Current licensed practical nursing (LPN) license in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • IV therapy credentials.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good interpersonal and delegation skills.
Work Environment

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. You will be exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue, and may be at risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste.
