Job Title: Carpenter Journeyman

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter Journeyman to join our team at Bechtel Corporation.

Job Summary

The Carpenter Journeyman will be responsible for reading and understanding blueprints, drawings, and sketches to select the proper size and type of building materials according to project specifications and dimensions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and prepare the installation to avoid obstructions
  • Mark cutting and assembly lines on materials using pencil, chalk, and marking gauge
  • Shape materials to prescribed measurements using skill saws, table saws, band saws, etc.
  • Assemble cut and shaped materials by fastening them together with nails or screws
  • Verify the trueness of a structure using a plumb bob and carpenter's level
  • Erect shoring and install plywood decking
  • Construct forms and chutes for pouring concrete
  • Unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation
  • Clean tools and equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have 48 months of industrial construction experience and be able to safely traverse uneven terrain with tools and building materials.

Must be able to climb vertical ladders and work above/below ground as necessary. Must have experience working at heights and a functional knowledge of proper use of fall protection equipment.

Safely operates power tools and equipment.

Typically requires 48 months of industrial construction experience.
