Abdominal Transplant Psychiatrist Opportunity

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a full-time academic psychiatrist to join our world-renowned Abdominal Transplant Service. As a key member of our team, you will provide clinical care to transplant patients, including outpatient consultations, donor and new transplant evaluations, and inpatient consultations. You will also participate in transplant selection meetings and contribute to the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows.

About the Role
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric care to transplant patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions.
  • Collaborate with transplant surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in transplant selection meetings to evaluate patients' suitability for transplantation.
  • Contribute to the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows in consultation liaison psychiatry and addiction psychiatry.

Requirements
  • Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry.
  • Additional training in consultation liaison psychiatry and/or addiction psychiatry is highly encouraged but not required.
