Job Title: IT Technician

At Empirical Foods, we're seeking an experienced IT Technician to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining our network infrastructure and ensuring seamless operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain various network technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, VoIP, VPN, Dark Fiber, and WAVE circuits.
  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance activities to minimize disruption to end-users.
  • Inspect LAN infrastructure and resolve minor or major problems/bugs.
  • Analyze and interpret network traffic and workload to maintain a goal of 99.999% uptime.
  • Provide consistent and effective solutions based on issues such as traffic congestion, infrastructure upgrades, and routine troubleshooting.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot network and fiber optic cables.
  • Install computers, workstations, printers, and other devices as needed.
  • On-board new employees on computer use policies regarding equipment and network.
  • Provide on-site support for computers, peripherals, network usage, and offer comprehensive advice and instructions.
  • Assist our IT Helpdesk to resolve issues.
Qualifications:
  • Cisco LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols, and network technologies.
  • Terminating various types of copper/fiber optic connectors.
  • Cable management in racks and termination trays.
  • Supporting and troubleshooting common office hardware and software.
  • Microsoft Active Directory and Windows print servers.
  • Microsoft 365 applications.
  • VMware products, including ESXi, vCenter, and Horizon.
  • Network Access Control Systems, such as Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine).
  • Cisco DNAC leveraging SDA.
  • Access Points and Wireless LAN Controllers.
Demonstrated Competencies:
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, both in verbal and written form.
  • Advanced analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and technical skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a record of project management achievements.
  • Solutions-oriented, results-driven, and self-starter.
  • Must have regular and punctual attendance.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, and lift up to 40 lbs.
Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years in an IT or related position.
Education:
  • Associate degree in computer science, networking administration, information technology, or a similar field is preferred.
