Job Title: Construction Project Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team at JH Findorff and Son Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day construction management efforts of projects, including budgeting, field operations, safety, quality control, and scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and oversee the process of issuing subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, and monthly payment requests.
  • Actively manage contract terms, including prompt invoice approval, resolving issues, and Certificates of Insurance.
  • Prepare, distribute, and track RFI's, CB's, RFP's, or other change issue documentation.
  • Create a detailed project schedule, update as the project progresses, and distribute on regular intervals to all project stakeholders.
  • Manage all close-out activities, including creation, distribution, and tracking of punch lists, O&M, and Owner training.
  • Schedule, prepare, facilitate, and document pre- and post-job meetings and pre- and post-task meetings.
  • Lead the process of incorporating virtual construction and BIM coordination to gain the greatest benefit for the project.
  • Possess strong knowledge of construction law, contract terms, dispute resolution, and risk management.
  • Estimating, quantity take-off, and pricing.
  • Coordinate bid day activities with the Estimator.
  • Develop strong relationships with Owners, Architects, Subcontractors, and colleagues.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, oversight, review, and performance feedback to peers to improve their performance and career development.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mediation skills.

Education & Experience:

  • At least 5-8 years of experience in managing construction projects exceeding $5 million.
  • Broad knowledge of building systems and construction methods.
  • Understanding of the complexities and sequences of all construction activities.
  • Knowledge of construction law, contract terms, dispute resolution, and risk management.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Finance, or related field (equivalent experience in lieu of degree will be considered).
