Overview
As a key member of our compliance team, you will identify customer-related trends, patterns, typologies, and issues associated with illicit financial activities, including money laundering and terrorist financing.

Your role is crucial in ensuring that all transactions or customers identified as suspicious are promptly referred to the appropriate BSA Analyst or Supervisor, adhering to our established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough analysis of BSA/AML alerts within set timeframes, following established alert processing protocols.
- Recommend alerts for further investigation regarding suspicious activities.

- Manage BSA cases by documenting and analyzing activity results and supporting documentation, leading to recommendations on whether to file a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR).

- Participate in the SAR completion process, including filing, committee reviews, narrative writing, quality assessments, and re-filing.

- Utilize various systems, including core banking and AML monitoring software, to analyze transaction activities and identify unusual patterns.

- Perform enhanced due diligence on high-risk customers and suggest modifications to risk ratings as necessary.
- Prepare and maintain documentation to meet regulatory and audit requirements.
- Monitor Customer Due Diligence (CDD) questionnaires for accuracy and follow up with relevant departments for necessary corrections.
- Assess CDD alerts for unidentified high-risk customers generated by the AML monitoring system.
- Ensure proper completion of beneficial owner documentation for business deposit accounts and commercial loans.
- Complete verification and filing of Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) within regulatory deadlines.

- Analyze watchlist alerts for potential matches to OFAC SDN lists, sanctioned countries, politically exposed persons, and internal lists.

- Provide backup support for all BSA/AML related tasks as needed.
- Participate in annual mandatory BSA/AML training sessions.
- Serve as a resource for internal departments.
- Perform related duties as required.

- May involve travel to designated high-risk customer sites to assess the presence of financial services.

Requirements
- BA or BS degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in BSA/AML or related banking roles.
- Fundamental knowledge of BSA/AML and regulatory requirements is essential.
- Experience with BSA/AML or fraud monitoring systems is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- Self-motivated with strong analytical and investigative abilities.
- Willingness to attend BSA/AML training sessions, both on-site and off-site.
- Proficiency in technology, including Word, Excel, and Outlook applications is required.
