We are seeking a skilled X-Ray Technician to join our team at Little Havana Activities and Nutrition Centers of Dade County, Inc. This is a unique opportunity to work with a non-profit organization that serves socially isolated and economically disadvantaged seniors in the South Florida area.
Key Responsibilities- Perform X-Ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement, using knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Prepare patients for continued medical evaluations by physicians, taking a brief history, establishing vital signs, and recording appropriate documentation on approved forms.
- Recognize levels of acuity and provide appropriate medical intervention when necessary.
- Receive instructions from physicians regarding X-Rays required for patients and execute physician-directed instructions to obtain clear imaging results.
- Use X-Ray equipment properly and maintain compliance and safety protocols for all patients and staff members.
- Coordinate receipt and delivery of X-Ray dosimeter through vendor (Laundauer) every three (3) months.
- Keep patients calm and informed throughout the X-Ray procedure.
- Assist with preparation and distribution of OTC bags for patients on a monthly basis or as requested.
- Report any technical or maintenance issues related to X-Ray equipment.
Little Havana Activities and Nutrition Centers of Dade County, Inc. is a non-profit organization that serves socially isolated and economically disadvantaged seniors in the South Florida area. Our mission is to provide a wide-range of social services to seniors, allowing them to continue to live at home with some assistance and avoid early, costlier institutionalization.
