Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide attentive, prompt, and friendly service to all internal and external customers, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience in our store.
  • Point of Sale Operations: Operate the register and bagging for customers, accurately processing transactions and handling customer payments.
  • Assistance and Support: Assist in multiple departments, including receiving, stocking, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Greet all customers in an approachable and friendly manner, address customer inquiries, and direct inquirers to the service desk for assistance as needed.
  • Product Knowledge and Sales: Maintain knowledge of products, sales, and promotions, and effectively communicate their details to customers.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in ensuring small products at registers are stocked, and call appropriate parties to ensure they are stocked in a timely manner.
  • Visual Merchandising: Work to ensure that goods are stocked and labeled appropriately to the standards of the department of focus, and assist in maintaining displays, signage, and tags.
  • Store Maintenance: Participate in maintaining cleanliness and order, adhering to all workplace safety and security policies.
  • Training and Development: Participate in meetings and trainings when applicable, and may assist with curbside duties as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent education or experience preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of one (1) year's experience in a retail environment preferred, with a minimum of one (1) year's experience and familiarity with natural foods preferred.
  • Core Values and Conduct: Supports the co-op's core values and aligns with the Co-op Code of Conduct.
  • Communication and Adaptability: Ability to maintain a friendly and positive attitude, adapt readily based on evolving co-op needs or in response to feedback, and maintain composure and professionalism in the workplace.
  • Availability and Reliability: Flexibility to work any shift, including mornings, middays, evenings, weekends, and consistent access to reliable transportation.
