This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Float Certified Medical Assistant Sr at Texas Oncology. As a member of our team, you will have the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality cancer care.

Job Summary
  • Assist physicians and clinicians with patient care duties, promoting efficient patient flow and care.
  • Perform various clinic support tasks, including clerical duties, answering phones, and maintaining physician schedules.
  • Support adherence to the US Oncology Compliance Program and Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as needed.
  • Record patient data, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
  • Obtain necessary patient records prior to treatment or procedures.
  • Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as required.
  • Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
  • Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, as delegated by RN or physician.
  • Maintain exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
  • Answer patient telephone calls and provide referrals as needed.
  • Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls, as directed by physicians and RN.
  • Inform physicians of patient reschedules and no-shows.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, reception, etc., as requested.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred.
  • 0-3 years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant (Level 1).
  • Minimum three years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant (Level 2).
  • Minimum five years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting (Level Sr).
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $65,000 per year, based on location and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, a generous PTO program, a 401(k) plan with company match, and more.
