Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Tidewater Physicians for Women. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing professional medical care for patients under the supervision of our physicians and nurse practitioners. This includes assisting with patient care, coordinating medical records, and performing various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support to our healthcare team
  • Assist with patient care, including vital signs, medical histories, and medication administration
  • Coordinate medical records, including charting and data entry
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and handling phone calls
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Collaborate with our healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in an OB/GYN setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records systems

Work Environment:

Our office is located in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, with occasional travel to both locations. We provide a safe and supportive work environment, with minimal exposure to communicable diseases.

Physical and Mental Demands:

This role requires the ability to lift up to 30 pounds of supplies and use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making patient transfers. You must also be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
