The Production Engineering Specialist will play a vital role in supporting the Engineer to Order (ETO) products manufactured in Chart's advanced facilities. The selected candidate will utilize their comprehensive expertise in manufacturing and welding methodologies to enhance operational efficiencies and achieve site objectives while prioritizing safety, quality, and productivity. This position necessitates the candidate's presence on-site full time.
Key Responsibilities Include...
- Develop, organize, and execute systems and procedures that will optimize manufacturing output.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Evaluate production workflows to enhance product uniformity, standardize operational procedures, and improve efficiency.
- Apply Lean principles throughout the facility, including 5S, Visual Management, Kanban, etc.
- Design and oversee technical training initiatives for production staff.
- Ensure effective communication of new product introductions and modifications to all relevant parties.
- Collaborate with various departments to coordinate technical information related to specific projects.
- Manage capital equipment projects: identify enhancements, ensure timely delivery, and maintain budget compliance.
- Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Educational Background...
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, ideally in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical disciplines.
Physical Work Environment Expectations...
- This role requires the ability to navigate the production area to address issues with manufacturing equipment or components.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Engage in various physical activities such as sitting, standing, stooping, and bending in an office environment.
Professional Experience Requirements...
- A minimum of 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering capacity.
- Engineering experience must encompass work with welding and fabrication techniques.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and ProE, with a preference for experience in Inventor or SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with factory performance metrics and Lean methodologies, with Six Sigma experience being advantageous.
