Job Summary

This position provides specialized services for students in elementary, middle, high, or alternative education settings, requiring a specialized license from the State of Oregon. The successful candidate will promote healthy school climates conducive to learning and foster high levels of multi-layered collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen, evaluate, and identify eligible students for speech and language services
  • Design and implement appropriate intervention strategies
  • Collect student performance data and establish a daily schedule
  • Provide information relative to communication disorders to students, parents, teachers, and community partners
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents regarding program content and intervention services
  • Monitor effectiveness of intervention and implement requirements of Federal and State regulations
  • Maintain records and reports required by District, State, and Federal agencies
Requirements
  • A valid State of Oregon License appropriate for the position
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (Master's required for most State of Oregon licenses)
  • The ability to follow oral and written directions
  • The ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures and backgrounds
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills in at least one language, two languages preferred but not required
  • Proficient in the use of computer and internet-based applications, including but not limited to email and Google applications
Working Conditions

The work environment is standard classroom and stage settings. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally high depending upon student population and activities.
