Key Responsibilities:
  • Offer legal counsel on diverse municipal law issues.
  • Act as bond counsel and issuer's counsel, providing specialized knowledge in public finance and tax-exempt finance.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to address various legal concerns.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a range of legal documents and agreements.
  • Assist various departments in ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Represent the organization in litigation when required.
  • Stay informed on current laws and regulations, ensuring the organization’s legal policies are up-to-date.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and support staff in legal matters.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in Municipal Law, Bond Counsel, or Issuer's Counsel roles.
  • Proven background in Public Finance and Tax-Exempt Finance.
  • Strong expertise in Legal Research, Writing, and Compliance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated litigation experience.
  • Possession of a Master of Laws (LLM) degree is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Must hold a valid membership with the State Bar.
