Job Title: Field Crew Chief - Residential Land Surveyor

Exacta Land Surveyors is a leading provider of residential and commercial land surveying services across the nation. We are seeking a highly skilled Field Crew Chief to join our team in Ohio, Illinois, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, and Texas.

Job Summary:

The Field Crew Chief will be responsible for leading a team of surveyors in the collection and distribution of survey data using various surveying equipment, including GPS, total stations, and data collectors. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of surveying principles and practices, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of surveyors in the collection and distribution of survey data
  • Operate various surveying equipment, including GPS, total stations, and data collectors
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of survey data to clients
  • Maintain quality of data in the field and perform accurate simple calculations as needed
  • Responsible for equipment and vehicle maintenance, ensuring vehicle has proper equipment and supplies each morning and returns remaining equipment and supplies at end of shift
  • Fully adhere to Exacta's policies, procedures, and work directives
  • Resolve internal/external customer issues in a prompt and professional manner
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, managers, clients, and other parties as it relates to Exacta's services and overall business
Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED diploma required
  • Two years job-related experience in the surveying industry desired
  • Valid Driver's License and driving record that meets our insurance requirements
  • Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide, and perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance, and understand algebra, trigonometry, and geometry
  • Able to operate instruments required for the collection or distribution of survey data (total station, data collector, GPS)
  • Proficient in the independent application and use of job-related software/e-technology/cloud-based solutions
