Job Summary

RINA, a leading engineering consultancy firm, is seeking a Pipeline Survey Party Chief to oversee data collection, processing, drafting, research, and calculation tasks related to pipelines. The ideal candidate will have experience with AutoCAD Civil3D and/or Microstation/Geopak/ORD, as well as knowledge of total station, GPS, underground locating, and LIDAR equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Control and Data Management: Verify and establish project control, download data, and map data collected.
  • Field Operations: Perform fieldwork using a robotic total station and RTK GPS, and oversee the data collection of various features and details of construction portions of pipelines.
  • Office Work: Perform office work using Civil3D and/or Microstation with Geopak/Open Roads Designer as needed, and maintain organized records.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate daily with senior office staff, and coordinate with other staff and engineers during project execution for conformance to standards and code requirements.
Requirements
  • Experience: 4-12 years of experience in pipeline surveying, with FS (SIT) or PLS optional.
  • Technical Skills: Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as experience with Civil3D and/or Microstation/Geopak/ORD.
  • Communication Skills: Strong technical written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to clearly communicate concepts and ideas.
  • Physical Demands: Mobile work, exerting up to forty (40) pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
