Job Summary: Stanford University is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Data Aide 2. The successful candidate will provide support to the Faculty in developing and applying novel clinical data curation techniques and approaches to departmental surgical data.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and apply novel clinical data curation techniques and approaches to departmental surgical data.
  • Assist in the redevelopment of the cardiac surgery database, including concatenating prior data sources and working to fill in missing data fields.
  • Follow data cleaning plans.
  • Assisting with the graphical presentation of data.
  • Helping with database development and documentation.
  • Authorship and editing of statistical methodology sections for grant applications, study proposals, and manuscripts as able.
  • Accurately enter data from data sheets or charts into a database and/or manual filing system using specific, standard instructions.
  • Determine appropriate action to be taken for duplicate, inaccurate, or unclear information.
  • Maintain computerized and manual logs and files in accordance with established procedures.
  • Selectively apply a variety of procedures in measuring data, using judgment to determine how standard guidelines apply.

Requirements: High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent and two years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Interest in and experience working with clinical data; interest in reviewing clinical records and experience in doing so for research or quality purposes.

Work Environment: Sitting in place at computer for long periods of time with extensive keyboarding/dexterity.
