Riverside Health System is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA. Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role

We are a 450-bed level II trauma facility with a level III NICU and multiple ICUs. As a respiratory therapist, you'll receive comprehensive orientation and training in our respiratory-driven protocols. You will work alongside a dedicated team to provide exceptional care to our patients, collaborating with physicians and nurses to create treatment plans and evaluating progress.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, implement, and evaluate treatment and procedures contributing to the Respiratory Care Plan.
  • Complete documentation and ensure all orders are current, completed, or discontinued.
  • Participate in meetings and projects relative to improving Respiratory Care Services.
  • Utilize proper infection control techniques.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must have an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field, along with a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) and CPR/BLS certification from American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) are also required upon hire. Additionally, you must obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of employment.
