About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer II to join our team at Medtronic. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for high-quality components used in implantable medical devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Manufacturing Processes: Develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement process improvements to enhance product quality, reduce cycle time, and improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Equipment Layout and Installation: Design the arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure the most efficient and productive layout.
  • Production Support: Provide hands-on support to production teams, ensuring equipment and processes operate efficiently.
  • Troubleshooting: Lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve issues related to manufacturing operations, including molding and welding.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Create and maintain accurate manufacturing documentation, such as work instructions, process flows, and validation protocols, ensuring all processes comply with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Equipment Qualification and Validation: Conduct equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and process validation activities to ensure reliable and repeatable manufacturing processes.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma: Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to eliminate waste, improve efficiency, and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
  • Collaboration and Training: Work closely with operations, quality, design, and supply chain teams to address production issues and ensure products meet specifications. Train and mentor operators and technicians on new equipment, processes, and manufacturing best practices.
Requirements
  • Education: Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A)) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 0 years of experience.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with molding and welding operations is a plus. Knowledge of manufacturing process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and working in regulated environments (FDA, ISO).
  • Skills and Competencies: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and cross-functional collaboration.
