Mathematics Support Specialist

**Position Overview**
Provide academic assistance to students across various Mathematics disciplines. Deliver support either in-person or through virtual platforms, addressing the computing needs of students. Aid in the administration, monitoring, and documentation of student assessments.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**- Complete coursework in Calculus (I, II, III), Differential Equations, and Linear Algebra.
- Stay updated on current Mathematics curriculum.
- Offer individualized or group tutoring in diverse areas of Mathematics.
- Support students with various online homework platforms (e.g., MML, Web Assign).
- Assist in the organization, administration, and record-keeping for student assessments in the Testing Center.
- Maintain awareness of advancements in Mathematics software and hardware.
- Help students navigate programming tools (such as Matlab and Mathematica).
- Keep accurate records of student attendance and usage in the Math Lab.
- Facilitate the checkout process for calculators and textbooks.
- Answer inquiries and relay messages for the Math Lab Coordinator or faculty members.
- Work rotating weekend shifts and evening hours in the Math Lab.
- Mentor new tutors as needed.
- Provide virtual tutoring services for hybrid and online courses.
- Monitor and respond to chat inquiries related to the Math Lab.
- Exhibit a positive and enthusiastic attitude while assisting students.
Perform other related tasks as assigned.
**Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**- Must be pursuing a degree in Mathematics or Engineering.
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 in Mathematics courses.
- Previous tutoring experience is preferred.
