About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Energy Engineer to join our Energy Consulting Services practice at Ramboll US Corporation. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in helping our clients achieve their energy efficiency and carbon reduction goals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead client development for new projects, focusing on business development and project execution.
  2. Conduct investigative energy assessments to identify energy and cost savings measures (ASHRAE Level 1-3 energy audits).
  3. Perform utility billing and interval data analysis, and energy benchmarking.
  4. Conduct spreadsheet analysis to estimate energy and cost savings of proposed energy efficiency measures (EEMs).
  5. Develop custom spreadsheet calculators and analysis tools.
  6. Develop construction cost estimates for EEMs and determine economic results (e.g., via simple payback period and life cycle cost analysis).
  7. Utilize building energy simulation modeling software (e.g., eQUEST/DOE-2.2, EnergyPlus) to assess savings potential of EEMs in existing facilities and optimize energy performance of new construction and substantial renovation projects.
  8. Assess renewable energy potential at client sites.
  9. Perform Measurement & Verification (M&V) activities, including data analysis.
  10. Work with and support company design engineers and construction managers to implement energy efficiency projects.
  11. Participate in or lead the development of Energy Master Plans and Decarbonization Plans.
  12. Conduct energy scenario planning and techno/economic modeling analyses to support planning projects.
  13. Support building commissioning activities.
  14. Summarize engineering analyses/results in written reports (and planning documents) and presentations that are cohesive and of the highest quality.
  15. Support business development activities.
  16. Mentor and coach junior engineering staff.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor of Science in engineering required.
  2. Certified Energy Manager preferred.
  3. Professional Engineer preferred.
  4. MBA/Masters preferred.
  5. Minimum 10-15 years of professional experience with focus on building energy efficiency; energy master and/or decarbonization planning experience is a plus.
  6. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  7. Strong computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  8. Advanced spreadsheet skills.
  9. Project Management experience or ability to lead projects from conception through completion with emphasis on quality, schedule adherence, and budget control.
  10. Energy master planning.
  11. Energy efficiency.
  12. ASHRAE Level 1 & 2 building audits.
  13. Industrial, municipal, and/or higher education market experience.
  14. Previous business development and marketing experience.
