Job SummaryAs a key member of our teaching team, the Associate Teacher plays a vital role in the daily operations of our Head Start classroom. This includes building strong relationships with families, assuming the Teacher role during planning and occasional absences, and implementing the Head Start Performance Standards. The Associate Teacher works closely with families to promote parent involvement and may be assigned additional duties based on program needs and areas of expertise. Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Teacher in preparing, planning, and executing daily classroom operations.
  2. Build relationships with families and promote parent involvement in the program.
  3. Assume the Teacher role during planning and occasional absences.
  4. Implement the Head Start Performance Standards.
  5. Perform additional duties as assigned based on program needs and areas of expertise.
Requirements
  1. Experience working with preschool children and a CDA credential.
  2. An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development with two years' experience preferred.
  3. Must obtain Basic First Aid and CPR Certification and maintain certification and licensing required training.
  4. Acceptable tuberculosis and drug screening results, a clear criminal records check, and an initial health exam are required post job offer and prior to employment.
  5. Current and former Head Start employees, students, and parents will receive preference for employment vacancies for which they are qualified.
