About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our team at Deeplocal, a leading innovation studio based in Pittsburgh, PA. As a Fabricator, you will play a critical role in the creation of high-quality, interactive exhibits and experiences for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabrication: You will be responsible for detailed, high-quality fabrication of custom components in metal, wood, and plastics.
  • Finishing: You will work on painting and bodywork (including Bondo) of exhibits and sub-components.
  • Problem Solving: You will collaborate with our team to solve complex problems and communicate with different disciplines, including engineering and creative.
  • Maintaining Equipment and Supplies: You will inspect the work area and machines, order new parts and supplies as needed, and maintain a safe and organized workspace.
  • Collaborating: You will work closely with our team to ensure project requirements are met and projects are completed on time and within budget.
Requirements
  • High degree of technical ability in commercial, fine art, or interactive exhibit fabrication.
  • Experience with millwork, cabinetry, body work, airbrush, and HVLP spray gun preferred.
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • A strong attention to detail and the ability to think quickly and solve problems.
  • Creative thinker and problem-solver who is comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Ability to read measuring tools and other shop tools.
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable and responsible.
  • Computer skills required, Google Suite experience is preferred.
