Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Development Project Engineer to join our team at Quality Technology Services, LLC. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for assisting with the design, preconstruction, and construction activities on various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the design, preconstruction, and construction activities on assigned projects
  • Interact with various stakeholders, including facilities, contractors, designers, engineers, commissioning agents, vendors, and data center operations and corporate real estate staff
  • Assist with the development of project budgets, schedules, and status reports
  • Work closely with the development leadership and project manager to ensure successful project execution
  • Assist with the entitlement and permitting process for individual projects
  • Evaluate and level pricing proposals for design, construction, and commissioning services
  • Work with the strategic procurement team to procure equipment and manage the delivery process
  • Ensure proper submittals are coordinated with site stakeholders
  • Assist with monitoring project budget and cost-to-date against overall project budget
  • Review project schedules and manage teams to on-time completion
  • Review change order requests from contractors and negotiate pricing
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Represent QTS interests in OAC meetings
  • Create and build relationships that enhance QTS's ability to be a leader in creating the world's most valuable data center real estate
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management field or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, specifically PowerPoint for use in communicating program updates to executive level, and Excel to create and maintain site program and individual project budgets
  • US Citizenship for this position is required by law due to federal customer contracts
Preferred Qualifications
  • One or more years of professional experience in commercial construction practices and procedures, including management of Lump Sum, Construction Management @ Risk, and Design Build project delivery methods from conceptual development through procurement to close out
  • Experience or exposure in mission critical data center facilities
  • Experience with management of MEP trades
