Job Title: Coordinator of Grants Writing

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Coordinator of Grants Writing to join our team at Sumter School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, writing, and providing technical assistance for all major grants, as well as performing complex administrative duties to maintain effective and efficient grants operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, pursue, and manage all grant requests
  • Collect, analyze, and disseminate information on grant opportunities
  • Monitor state and federal legislation for grant opportunities
  • Prepare and assist schools and departments with grant applications
  • Train employees on grant writing and lead district grant writing teams
  • Interact and communicate with various groups and individuals, including district administrators, staff, school administrators, and government officials
  • Maintain a collection of current sources of grants relating to the school district and keep publications of new and important reports, studies, journal articles, etc.
  • Keep an updated database of grant activities, including proposal submissions, grantor agencies, proposal writers, and funding amounts
  • Make regular reports of grant opportunities to schools and departments through newsletters or email

Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in public administration, grant writing, or a related area, and supervisory experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Collaboration and Communication:

The successful candidate will collaborate with district administrators and community partners to compile data, prepare documentation, and other tasks necessary to prepare and submit grants and other funding opportunities.
