Job Summary

Newman Tractor is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring the timely repair of heavy equipment.

This is a fast-paced and detail-oriented role that requires a strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic, undercarriage, and mechanical repairs. You will work collaboratively with our team to diagnose and repair equipment, perform routine maintenance checks, and operate equipment as needed.

We are looking for a self-motivated and professional individual with at least 5 years of mechanical service experience in heavy equipment. You should have excellent customer service skills, experience with online parts and service manuals, and diagnostic software for heavy equipment.

In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary of $23+/hour, 80 hours of paid vacation, 401k with up to 4% match, and a range of other benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, undercarriage, and mechanical repairs
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and adjustments
  • Operate equipment as needed to diagnose and repair
  • Write complete repair descriptions on work orders
  • Turn in all paperwork to the Service Manager
  • Create and organize all paperwork generated during the shop repair
  • Perform other duties assigned by management
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of mechanical service experience in heavy equipment
  • Experience with online parts and service manuals, and diagnostic software for heavy equipment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Self-motivated and professional
