Position Overview:


This entry-level role focuses on the assessment of pre-cooked or post-cooked food items as they enter or exit the cooking process, overseeing frozen goods in the packaging area, and organizing finished product cases onto designated pallets.


Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and tasks are listed in no particular order and may be modified or updated at any time with or without notice.

Physical Responsibilities:
Manually assemble and/or package products in accordance with line standards.

Lift and transport cases weighing up to 50 pounds.

Inspect packaging materials for any damage and inform the Lead of any non-compliant items.

Execute line sanitation and housekeeping practices while monitoring packing equipment for potential issues to report to a Lead.


Ensure accurate pallet labeling and sticker information is applied, stack cases on pallets, and confirm proper sealing of bags and boxes.

Understand various case pack sizes and weight ranges, adjusting tape machine settings as necessary.

Maintain agility and adaptability to accommodate different line speeds and case standards.

Perform all other assigned tasks as needed.

Communication Responsibilities:
Exhibit consistent respectful communication with all team members.

Report any production issues to team members, demonstrating an understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).

Engage in break rotations, write clearly, and collaborate effectively with colleagues.


Inspect products to ensure adherence to quality standards set by Quality Control, disposing of non-compliant items and communicating with leadership as necessary.


Safety Responsibilities:
Comply with company standards and safety regulations.

Report all injuries, unsafe conditions, and actions.

Utilize proper lifting techniques.

Employ mechanical assistance (handjack, forklift, manlift).

Utilize personal assistance (team lift for products exceeding 50 lbs).

Use handrails.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work in temperatures averaging 50 degrees.

May be required to wear bump caps, safety glasses, hairnets, smocks, boots, earplugs, gloves, plastic sleeves, and aprons provided by the company.


Compliance with Food Safety:
Adhere to GMP's, SSOP, SOP, HACCP, SQF, and Quality requirements.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma/GED preferred.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Reliable and self-motivated.

Experience in a food manufacturing setting is preferred.

Strong communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Continuously required to stand.

Occasional walking, reaching and working above shoulders, body bending, stooping, climbing stairs, body twisting/rotating, and operating a pallet jack.

Will be exposed to loud industrial environments commonly found in manufacturing settings and working with powered equipment.

Varied temperatures from hot and humid to very cold.
