Position Overview:

  • Conduct specialized obstetric and gynecological ultrasounds, along with ultrasound guidance for diagnostic procedures, specifically for high-risk pregnancies. These examinations are performed in an outpatient setting focused on Maternal Fetal Medicine.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to scanning protocols and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) Accreditation Guidelines. Input preliminary reports into the electronic reporting system and communicate findings to the Perinatologist and primary nursing staff.
  • Gather patient history, previous reports, and relevant laboratory data to conduct comprehensive obstetric ultrasounds throughout all stages of gestation, including but not limited to Dating Scans, Biometry/Growth Scans, and Detailed Anatomy Scans.
  • Perform gynecological ultrasounds, including follicular monitoring and evaluations of pelvic masses.
  • Execute biophysical profiles and Doppler flow studies, along with fetal echocardiograms utilizing advanced imaging techniques.
  • Provide ultrasound guidance during invasive procedures, ensuring sterile techniques are observed.
  • Maintain professionalism and courtesy in interactions with patients, colleagues, and the public.
  • Participate in research initiatives and educational activities, attending departmental meetings and contributing to the training of new staff and students.
  • Maintain sonographic equipment in optimal working condition and report any deficiencies promptly.
  • Complete daily quality controls as per established protocols and maintain necessary certifications and continuing education credits.
  • Stay informed about federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Amer Reg Diag Med Sonographer certification (Required).
  • Current ARDMS certification in OB/GYN and Nuchal Translucency, with additional certifications to be obtained within the first year of employment.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Required).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine, particularly in high-risk pregnancy scenarios.
