Job Summary

The Veterinary Ophthalmology Residency Program at North Carolina State University is a four-year postdoctoral training program designed to prepare residents for a career in veterinary ophthalmology. The program provides a comprehensive education in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases in animals, as well as research and academic opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct a thorough physical and ophthalmic examination of patients
  • Review medical records and laboratory data to inform treatment decisions
  • Participate in morning rounds and consult with referring veterinarians
  • Develop and implement a scholarly activity plan
  • Meet the requirements for residency by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists
Work Environment

The residency program is based at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Residents will work in a fast-paced clinical environment, interacting with patients, veterinarians, and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements
  • Eligibility for the North Carolina Veterinary Licensure
  • Faculty certificate under the supervision of the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Teaching Hospital
  • Valid NC Driver's License not required
  • Commercial Driver's License not required
