Position Overview:
The Forklift Operator will collaborate with fellow forklift operators, truck drivers, and general laborers to meet performance objectives. This role involves loading and unloading vehicles while safely operating forklifts to complete tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely maneuver forklifts to load and unload products from commercial vehicles and store finished goods.
  • Receive and inspect products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Transport supplies to production areas as required.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order and ensure cleanliness at the end of each shift.
  • Work with the yard supervisor to address discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, and potential issues.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment in accordance with safety training.
  • Collaborate with the team to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills; proactively report on issues and progress.
  • Strong focus on safety; operate equipment in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Effective time management skills; comfortable working within time-sensitive deadlines.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a sit-down forklift operator or in a related field.
  • Familiarity with forklift operation and safety protocols.
  • High School Diploma is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds. The role requires close inspection and continuous monitoring of all machinery in the production process. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to move throughout the facility, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively. The employee may also need to remain stationary, ascend and descend steps and ladders, and position themselves in tight spaces.
