Job Summary

Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Refugee Resettlement Specialist to join our team in Waterloo. As a key member of our Immigrant and Refugee Community Services, you will play a vital role in supporting the successful resettlement of refugee populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients in accessing essential services, including housing, employment, education, and healthcare, to ensure a smooth transition to their new life.
  • Transport and accompany clients to appointments, providing emotional support and guidance throughout the process.
  • Collaborate with volunteers, community resources, and other stakeholders to coordinate services and ensure timely delivery.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, develop personalized self-sufficiency plans, and provide ongoing support to help clients achieve their goals.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of client interactions and service delivery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social work, counseling, or a related human services field.
  • At least one year of full-time experience in a related field, including work with immigrant and refugee populations.
  • Equivalent education and experience may be considered, including an associate's degree with three years of experience or a high school diploma/GED with five years of experience.
