Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Maternal Care Nurse Specialist to join our team at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. This is a unique opportunity to work with a dedicated group of healthcare professionals who are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Directs and coordinates all nursing care for Labor and Delivery, Nursery, and Post Partum units for adult and newborn patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards.
  • Reports to the OB Manager and is responsible for managing laboring patients and fetal monitoring.
  • Cares for the newborn from birth through discharge to home or a higher level of care, including resuscitation, stabilization, and intermediate care.
  • Provides education to new mothers on breastfeeding resources and techniques, consulting with lactation consultants when needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Current Texas Registered Nurse Licensure.
  • One year of recent Labor and Delivery, Postpartum and Newborn Nursery experience preferred.
  • Current BLS for healthcare provider certification required.
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Fetal Monitoring certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required within one year of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP) certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring required after 3 years of hire.
  • Neonatal STABLE course required within one year of hire.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
