Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Waste Management Panama City. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance services, inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment
  • Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs
  • Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisition new parts
  • Perform all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs)
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles
  • Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
  • Assist senior Mechanics in the completion of project work
  • Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports

Requirements:

  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical

Work Environment:

This position requires the ability to work in a repair/maintenance shop environment, which involves exposure to physical occupational risks, physical environment, and dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements.
